Jigra Box Office Collection: Alia Bhatt’s recently released action-thriller ‘Jigra’ promised a fresh and intimidating Alia in the trailer, however, it seems the audience’s expectations crumbled as the movie has received a mixed response from fans, making it one of Alia’s lowest openers since her 2014 film Highway. While some scenes will probably give you goosebumps, the overall movie is a typical Bollywood action flick with the main lead’s forceful attempt to save her brother’s life. Apart from Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina is also playing a pivotal role in the movie, with other supporting characters.

Jigra Box Office Collection Day 1

Jigra was released on October 11, 2024, with over 3000 shows in India. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 4.25 Cr nett on its first day, Alia's lowest opening since 2014’s Highway, her second picture. Jigra, which was released in Hindi and Telugu, had an overall occupancy rate of 20.13 percent in Hindi and grossed Rs 4.2 Cr from 2900 shows. In Telugu, the film had only 42 showing with an occupancy of 20.17 percent, grossing barely Rs 5 lakh. Despite this lukewarm response, fans are praising both Alia and Vedang’s performances, and it is expected that the movie will make a good collection on its opening weekend.

Jigra Vs Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video

Alia Bhatt’s 2014 film Highway grossed Rs 3.4 Cr on its first day but eventually earned Rs 30 Cr nett in India. Since then, Alia has established herself as one of the leading Indian actresses globally, giving spectacular performances in Dear Zindagi, Raazi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and several other hits. Meanwhile, Alia’s Jigra clashed with Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri starrer Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, which managed to make more on its opening day, with comparatively higher shows across India.
