John Christopher Depp II (Johnny Depp) is an American actor, producer, and musician who is widely regarded as one of the world’s most famous actors, having acted in legendary films such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, among others. The actor is celebrating his 60th Birthday today. Depp has been in a number of films, including The Ninth Gate, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Platoon, Dead Man, Secret Window, and many others. He was the highest-paid actor at one point, with approximately $4 billion. Depp is Elizabeth II’s 20th cousin, who is also a musician and starred in numerous music videos.

Johnny Depp is one of the most well-known actors of his time, but in recent years, he has been in the headlines for a lot of controversies, which made him take a break from the industry. Johnny Depp was a major actor in Hollywood, but it all came crumbling down following his very public fight with ex-wife Amber Heard over the last four years, and one of the biggest blows for him was Disney cutting relations with him. 

Despite of him losing almost everything in this long trial of defamation and accusations, Johnny Depp has now returned to the big screen with yet another grand comeback. His first post-trial film “Jeanne du Barry”, starring him and Maïwenn, who also directed the film, made the grand opening of this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Lori Anne Allison

Johnny Depp married his first wife, makeup artist Lori Anne Allison, when he was only 20 years old, in 1983. According to reports, Allison, who is six years his senior, met the future star through her brother, who was in a band called “Kids” with Depp.

Many credit Allison with launching Depp’s career by introducing him to Nicolas Cage, who secured him an audition for “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, his first on-screen performance in 1984. Despite charges from Heard, the pair split in 1985 and remain on good terms, with Allison saying that Depp is a “soft person” who never hit or yelled at her in 2016.

Sherilyn Fenn

Depp met his next girlfriend, actress Sherilyn Fenn while working on the 1985 short film “Dummies”. The duo dated for three years before working together again in 1987 on an episode of “21 Jump Street”. Reports even say that they were engaged but the couple split the following year.

Jennifer Grey

Actress Jennifer Grey, who was seen in “Dirty Dancing”, began dating the actor in 1989, and Grey claimed in her 2022 biography, “Out of the Corner” that he proposed to her within two weeks after meeting through her agent at the time. The actress also announced her engagement to the actor as well as to Matthew Broderick in 2022. The actress was said to reveal that Johnny developed rage and jealousy issues, prompting her to call off their engagement after only nine months together.

Kate Moss

After meeting through a journalist, Depp and model Kate Moss began dating in late 1994. Depp was arrested that year for inflicting over $10,000 in damage to a hotel room, with Moss discovered lying among the wreckage by police. Despite the chaotic evening, the couple remained together until 1998. Moss once revealed that it was very difficult for her to break up with Johnny. 

Vanessa Paradis

Following his separation from Moss, Depp began seeing his next long-term girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, in 1998. Depp met French singer Paradis while shooting Roman Polanski’s film “The Ninth Gate” in Paris, and they dated for 14 years. In 1999, the couple welcomed daughter Lily-Rose, and in 2002, son Jack, however, the couple split up in 2012.
