Kargil Blast Update: Explosion at Scrap Shop in Drass Claims 3 Lives, Sparks Public Outrage

Kargil Blast Breaking: On the evening of August 18, a mysterious incident occurred at Kabadi Nala in the city of Dras within the Kargil district. Reportedly, an unexplained blast near a scrapyard occurred claiming the lives of three individuals and causing injuries to eight others. All those injured have been taken to a sub-divisional hospital in Drass for immediate treatment. As per authorities, the explosion occurred within a scrap dealer's shop situated in the Kabadi Nala region of Drass. Upon receiving the information, the police promptly arrived at the scene.

Public Outrage in Drass after the explosion

Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, who is the District Commissioner of Kargil, visited the Drass Sub District Hospital to take a look at the injured. He later informed the authorities to extend as much help as possible to all the eight people who got hurt in the explosion. However, the blast has sparked major public outrage in the area. Someone from Drass claimed the reason being stating that the blast took place happened close to the market area where there are shops that deal with scrap materials. These shops should be located far away, as people who collect scrap sometimes mingle with the army and we don't know what they bring. They later mentioned that “We had talked about this issue before as well - these scrap shops should be away from the market.” “There isn't a doctor here who can do surgeries. At least the injured should be able to get treatment, but this facility is not available” they further asserted.
