Mainpuri By election: Dimple Yadav towards record victory, leading with more than 1.5 lakh votes

Mulayam Singh Yadav's elder daughter-in-law and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav are in the fray in the Mainpuri by-election. Whereas, Raghuraj Singh Shakya is contesting from BJP. The counting of votes in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-election, which took place after the death of patron Mulayam Singh Yadav, started on Thursday morning. In the initial trends, SP's Dimple Yadav is leading over BJP's Raghuraj Singh Shakya. Dimple Yadav is leading from all the assembly constituencies. Dimple is said to have a lead of about 1.5 lakh votes.

Battle in Rampur elections

SP is giving competition to BJP in Rampur. Here Asim Raza, a close aide of Azam Khan, is contesting on behalf of the SP. In Khatauli, the BJP was leading in the initial trends but has now come second. Congress's Anil Sharma is leading in Rajasthan's Sardarshahar seat and Congress's Savitri Mandavi is leading in Chhattisgarh's Bhanupratappur seat.

In Khatauli, RLD candidate Madan Bhaiya is leading by 7000 votes. Vikram Saini's wife and BJP candidate Rajkumari Saini is again behind. BJP candidate Kedar Gupta has won in Kudhani seat. He was competing with JDU's Manoj Kushwaha. In the trends so far in Bhanupratappur seat, Savitri Mandavi of Congress is leading by 15,926 votes.
