Microsoft Windows Outage:  A Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) across Microsoft Windows users is fueling entertaining memes on the internet. Microsoft is facing a global outage reported by users after they experienced a sudden error leading to the shutdown of their system.   

Reason Behind The Windows Outage 

Microsoft has investigated the matter revealing the reason for the outage to be a CrowdStrike update resulting in the global breakdown of the system. A “configuration change" in a part of the Azure backend workloads has been identified as the root cause for the present halt in Microsoft 365 services as the latter is dependent on the connections with CrowdStrike.  

In an official statement, Microsoft has said, “We remain committed in treating this event with the highest priority and urgency while we continue to address the lingering impact for the Microsoft 365 apps that are in a degraded state. Our services are still seeing continuous improvements while we continue to take mitigation actions…We remain focused on redirecting the impacted traffic to healthy systems. We still expect that users will continue to see gradual relief as we continue to mitigate the issue.”
