Mpox In India: First Case of Monkeypox Discovered in India, Patient in Isolation Ward

Mpox case in India: The Health Ministry confirmed that a case of mpox has been recorded in India. The patient was admitted to a certain hospital as a suspect yesterday. His sample was sent for testing, and it has been confirmed that he is positive with mpox. The man just returned from a country where monkeypox is spreading. 

Patient Kept in Isolation

According to the ministry, the patient is stable, and he has been instructed to remain isolated in the designated hospital. The case is being treated in accordance with existing norms, and based on the findings of India’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the ministry stated that there is nothing to worry about. On August 14, the World Health Organization declared monkeypox a global health emergency.
