Box Office India reports that Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, which had a record-breaking opening weekend with a whopping 4800 admissions in 3 days, is the most popular movie in Norway.

Prior to Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, the previous record holder was Shah Rukh Khan's 2017 film Raees, which had 4700 admissions in a 5-day opening weekend. ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ afterwards set a three-day record. In fact, with 4100 admissions over the course of the five-day weekend, Shah Rukh Khan’s most recent box office success Pathaan ranked sixth before the release of the Rani Mukerji-starring film.
It made $600,000 on the international market and is expected to do even better in the coming days. In terms of domestic revenue, the picture grossed more than 12 crore net in India.

The movie is based on the real-life story of an Indian couple whose children were taken away by Norwegian officials in 2011, and the immigrant Indian mother battles the Norwegian foster care system and the judicial system to reclaim custody of her children. The film is produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Nikkhil Advani under the brands of Zee Studios and Emmay Entertainment, and it stars Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta, and Jim Sarbh. Kausar Munir wrote the lyrics for the movie, and Amit Trivedi composed the music.
