Mumbai Weather: Monsoon Arrived Early After 35 Years, 95 Buildings Declared “Dangerous”

Mumbai Weather:  The weather is wreaking havoc in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with the monsoon knocking on the door of the city early in May, a phenomenon happening after 35 years. According to the weather department, the upcoming heavy monsoon will cause widespread disruption in Mumbai, whereas the BMC and MHADA have declared as many as 95 buildings “dangerous” to inhabit, which are currently housing more than 3000 people who are being safely relocated. 

IMD has issued a yellow alert for moderate to heavy rainfall in Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, with coastal districts on an alert for strong winds and lightning.
