The female cheetah brought from Namibia in Palpur-Kuno National Park in the Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh died due to a longtime illness. Sasha, one of the eight cheetahs released in Kuno National Park in January, has been ailing since she was brought.
The concern of the officials increased as soon as the information about her illness was received. Sasha’s health had improved within a few days. Sasha was relocated from the main cage to the smaller enclosure during her sickness. Before traveling to India, this female cheetah ‘Sasha’ already had an infection in her kidneys. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Wildlife JS Chauhan said that the need for treatment was detected in the health test of the female cheetah by three vets deputed to look after the health of the cheetah. As a result, he was brought to the Quarantine enclosure on the same day. Cheetah’s health exam was done with state-of-the-art technology in the facility located in Van Vihar National Park. Examination of blood samples revealed that Sasha had a kidney infection.
