Why is PAN Card Needed: One of the most crucial documents for identity or any financial work is the PAN Card. A person’s PAN Card can provide plenty of information about them. It helps in opening bank accounts, post offices, and workplaces. Many of us, however, are unaware that a PAN number is just as necessary for any significant work as a PAN card. We generally ignore the 10-digit alphanumeric Permanent Account Number, or PAN, unless and until it is necessary for any official work. The PAN card’s recorded alphanumeric numbers have a specific significance and contain hidden information.

How Is PAN Number Generated?

The Indian Income Tax Department issues PAN cards. The first three letters of each PAN card’s ten numbers are arranged alphabetically. A unique procedure is used by the Income Tax Department to assign PAN numbers. Your PAN card has 10 digits that are a combination of letters and numbers. Any three-letter series between AAA and ZZZ can be entered into your PAN card using the alphabetical series. If you look at the fifth character of your PAN number, it indicates the first letter of your last name. For example, if your surname is Kumar, then the fifth character will be K.
