Rescue operation still on in MP's Vidisha where 4 died after 30 people fell into well while rescuing a girl

Vidisha Incident, Madhya Pradesh:

Around four people died after several villagers fell into a well while trying to rescue a girl, who fell into the well in the Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. As per the reports, the place of the incident is Ganj Basoda which is about 50 km from the district headquarters.

As stated by the locals from the village, the well is approximately 50 ft deep with a water level of about 20 feet.

While the reports as of Friday stated that, four dead bodies have been obtained while 15 people were rescued. And around 13 people are still missing, and a rescue operation is still underway in Vidisha.

The Vidisha’s Guardian Minister Vishwas Sarang visited the place of the incident on Thursday night and told ANI that “ Operation continues at Ganjbasoda, Vidisha. 19 people rescued. 3 bodies recovered. NDRF & SDRF are also here. The land here is prone to subsidence. It’s happening again & again. It’ll be difficult to say the exact toll until the operation concludes.”

The Vidisha Incident of Madhya Pradesh explained:

A girl fell into the well around 6 PM and when some people climbed down the well to rescue her, while others stood at the parapet, the wall collapsed throwing the ones standing on it into the water. 

While many people were speculated to be trapped under the rubble. At around 11 PM, a tractor was introduced to the rescue operation with four policemen and moved it into the well.

Rescue operation still on, CM to give compensation of Rs. 5 lakhs:

The Madhya Pradesh government has announced an ex-gratia compensation of Rs. 5 lakhs for the relatives of people who lost their lives in the Vidisha incident. Moreover, financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 was also announced for those who were injured, while they will be provided free medical treatment too.
