S Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs for India, has reprimanded China and Pakistan over the UN's handling of the terrorism issue. According to S. Jaishankar, nations that support individuals who have been labelled terrorists by the UN are not thinking about their own interests or their reputation. No terrorist act can ever be justified. India requests that the important subject of Security Council reform be thoroughly examined, the External Affairs Minister stressed.
Speaking at a high-level UN General Assembly meeting, the foreign minister said those who politicise the UNSC-1267 sanctions regime, sometimes to the extent of assisting recognised terrorists, do so at their own peril (UNGA).
