Share Market News: The Supreme Court has once again revoked the review petition that entered into the AGR case through Vodafone Idea. Due to this, Vodafone shares witnessed a fall of about 15%. To understand this more, let us know what is AGR. According to the Department of Telecommunication of the Ministry of Communications, Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) is the usage and licensing fees taken from telecom companies. It has two parts, spectrum usage which is 3-5%, and licensing fees of up to 8%.
There was a debate on how the calculation of AGR should be done, in which the Telecom Department said that the calculation of AGR should be on the basis of the total income or revenue of any telecom company. In which, deposit interest, asset sale, and other telecom sources should also be included. Whereas, the telecom companies said that the calculation of AGR should only be on the basis of the income from telecom services.
