Shefali Shah, an Indian actress, has appeared in several online series as well as Hindi films and TV plays. Before taking the lead in the crime drama Satya, she made her acting debut in the 1995 drama Rangeela. Numerous awards, including two Filmfare Awards, two Screen Awards, and a National Film Award, have been given to her.

Shefali Shah (formerly née Shetty) was born on May 22, 1973, in Mumbai. She is the only child of Gujarati-born Shobha Shetty, a homoeopathy physician, and their Mangalorean husband Sudhakar Shetty, a banker with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Shah attended the Arya Vidya Mandir School while growing up in the RBI quarters in Santa Cruz, Mumbai. From 1994 to 2000, Shah was wed to the television actor Harsh Chhaya. She wed the filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah in December 2000, the couple share two kids, Aryaman and Maurya.

At the 44th Filmfare Awards, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress (Critics) for her work in Satya, which was praised by critics and won her nominations. Her following performances in Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005) and Dil Dhadakne Do earned her a nomination for a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress (2015).
