Siddharth Biography: Born as Siddharth Suryanarayan, mononymously known as Siddharth is a multitalented individual with prowess in acting, directing, singing, and producing. He predominantly works in Tamil cinema along with Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi film industry. Know his journey from a stage performer in college to becoming one of the most sought-after names in the Tamil film industry.
Born on 17 April 1979, Siddharth hails from Chennai. He was brought up in a Tamil-speaking family. His academic journey has been as diverse as his skills. He went to the D.A.V. Boys Senior Secondary School, in Madras for his early education and later studied at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Delhi.

He pursued graduation in Delhi at the Kirori Mal College of Delhi University and decided to pursue a Masters in Business Administration from S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, in Mumbai.
Screen has been his passion from a young age, with his interest inclining towards writing and direction more. His career kicked off with a mosquito repellent advertisement in 1998. Additionally, he has been a part of theatre groups during his college days and has performed at various live stage acts.
His apprenticeship with ad filmmaker Jayendra and the cinematographer P.C. Sreeram paved the way for his debut as assistant director for the 2002 movie ‘Kannathil Muthamittal’ by Mani Ratnam.
Siddharth has been engaged with his rumoured love Aditi Rao Hydari.

Tamil Cinema
Siddharth started off strong in Tamil cinema with his debut film ‘Boys’, a coming-of-age youth-centric movie in 2003. He was recognized with the ITFA Best New Actor Award for his impressive performance in his debut movie. Later on, he collaborated with Mani Ratnam as an actor for the political drama ‘Aayatha Ezhuthu’ in 2004. Since then he has been a part of several magnanimous projects in south-Indian films including ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana’ (2005), ‘Oye! (2009), Anaganaga O Dheerudu (2011), Love Failure (2011) ‘Bommarillu’ (2006), ‘Midnight's Children' (2003) among others. His most recent projects have been ‘Maha Samudram’ and ‘Chittha’ (2023).
Bollywood Film Career
His big break in Bollywood was with Aamir Khan in multi-starrer patriotic movie ‘Rang De Basanti’ in 2006 which won him the Screen Award for Best Male Debut and nominations at the Filmfare, Zee Cine Award and IIFA Award for Best Male Debut Award and Star Debut of the Year - Male. He was then seen alongside Pakistani actor Ali Zafar in the 2013 rom-com ‘ Chashme Baddoor.
As a producer, Siddharth has worked on projects including Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi (2012) his debut production, and Jil Jung Juk, an Indian neo-noir.
