Momentous Collaborations of Iconic K-pop Artists and Western Singers

K-pop collab:  We all have grooved on the electric and enthralling beats of our favorite Korean singers and Hollywood singers. Sometimes in that moment, we wish upon a collabo with two artists from different sides of the world because their immense talent and versatile vocals just seem to fit perfectly. And every once in a while, one such wish of us music lovers is fulfilled when our two favourites announce collaborating with each other, sending us in frenzied excitement and anticipation of the magic the two would create.  

Thankfully, many iconic artists have already done our dream collaborations between K-pop idols and Western singers, and here are 6 such iconic collaborations.  

Lady Gaga + BLACKPINK 

The ‘biggest star in the music industry’, Lady Gaga collaborated with the ‘biggest girl group in the world’ BLACKPINK for a flavourful song ‘Sour Candy’ featured on Gaga’s record ‘Chromatica’ in 2020. 

Halsey + BTS 

‘Without Me’ singer Halsey’s adoration and support for the K-pop boy band BTS have been vivid in her interviews. She loves RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, and the boys on multiple occasions have reciprocated the love in equal intensity to Halsey.

They both collaborated in the highly anticipated collaboration of fun and funky beats of ‘Boy With Luv’ a catchy pop song featuring her in the chorus. And its music video is a visual treat. 

Charlie Puth + Jungkook 

You what shooketh the world? A collaboration between Charlie Puth and BTS’s Jungkook! Jungkook has been quite vocal about his admiration for Puth, as evident from his cover of Puth’s song ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’. In 2022, the fans just could not keep calm when the two collaborated on a catchy pop song like ‘Left and Right.’  

Halsey + Suga

The synergy of the powerful vocals of BTS’s rap god Suga and Halsey's hair-raising husky voice is indescribable. The two collaborated on a high-octane song ‘Lilith’ for a video game Diablo IV’s soundtrack. 

   

John Legend + Wendy

American Singer John Legend collaborated with Red Velvet’s Wendy for a single in 2019. The result was a soulful song  ‘Written In The Stars’. The lyrics of the song feel like a warm hug.
