Workers of the electricity department will also be able to work without restrictions during the weekly confinement. Additional Chief Secretary Avneesh Kumar Awasthi has issued instructions to all the District Magistrates of UP regarding taking electricity bill readings and providing electricity bills and special permission passes will be issued to the employees working at the e-Facilitation Center. 

Relaxation for the workers of Electricity Department

The aim of this relaxation is that along with revenue coming, the power system can also be maintained round the clock. Engineers, employees, employees working in billing centres, linemen, contract workers who are involved in maintenance or repair work, working in the partial corona curfew period, will be granted permission. The list of such employees has been sought from all the Superintending Engineers.

In the May 5th article of  Dainik Jagran published the news regarding the weekly restrictions titled E Suvidha Kendra Bandh. It was mentioned in the news that electricity bills during weekly closures will not be able to be deposited in the e-Facilitation Centers. Taking cognizance of the news, the State Government has written a letter to the DMs of all the districts. They have also asked the power department to prepare a list of meter readers from all the superintending engineers, those engineers, employees, contract workers, those working in the billing centers. The work has been started with regard to the total number of employees and engineers deployed in the sub-station. However, the order explicitly mentions that those who are being issued passes must fully obey the mask, physical distance.
