Food delivery giant Swiggy recently published its 2023 annual report. This report states that 2023 saw the greatest number of orders for biryani. During the 2023 World Cup, a lot of pizza and biryani were ordered.
Most Ordered Foods in India 2023
The report titled ‘How India Swiggy’d in 2023’ mentioned various record-breaking sales along with people’s favorite foods. The report states that this year a customer in Mumbai ordered food for Rs 42.3 lakh. The majority of these orders came from Hyderabad, Delhi, and Chennai, each of which placed an order exceeding 10,000. Reports state that during Durga Puja this year, Gulab Jamun sold over 7.7 million units, surpassing all other sweets. Masala Dosa was the most popular vegetarian dish during all nine days of Navratri. A Hyderabad-based customer ordered Idli worth Rs 6 lakh. Bangalore saw 8.5 million orders for chocolate cake, indicating a large volume of cake sales. 271 cakes were ordered every minute in the country on Valentine’s Day 2023. In a single day, a customer from Nagpur ordered 92 cakes.
