Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya Collection Day 1: Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon Sci-Fi Romance Mints Only Rs 6.7 Cr On Opening Day

TBMAUJ Box Office Collection: Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer recently released ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ received a mediocre response from the audience on the first day of its theatrical release on 9th February. While the story brought up a unique concept with some brilliant music tracks, the film was unable to hold the audience as many thought the story was copied, and the acting was below par despite having a talented star cast including Shahid’s comeback as a bonny and lovable character. The film started with an average collection on its first day, without making much impact in the box office charts.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya earned Rs 6.7 Cr on its first day of release, which is expected to further increase during Valentine’s Week. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya had an overall Hindi occupancy of 14.92% on Friday, indicating a slow start and lower-than-average earnings. The morning shows had an 8.8 percent occupancy rate, which increased throughout the day and reached 25.46 percent at night, with Mumbai and Bengaluru witnessing higher occupancy in night shows. The film premiered in 7,372 theaters across the country, with major bookings of evening shows. Chennai had the highest percentage at 48.5%, with strong showings in the evenings and at night.

TBMAUJ Review

While TBMAUJ didn’t make much impact on both Shahid and Kriti’s careers, they were able to at least justify their roles in the movie. The movie revolves around a robotic scientist Aryan (Shahid), who falls in love with SIFRA (Kriti), an intelligent female robot, whose name stands for “Super Intelligent Female Robot Automation.” Helmed by debut directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, the movie also stars veteran actor Dharmendra, who was recently seen in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, and Dimple Kapadia in key roles. Shahid’s highest-grossing film remains 2019’s Kabir Singh, with Rs 20 Cr earnings on opening day and grossed nearly Rs 280 Cr domestically. Kriti’s last film was ‘Ganpath’ opposite Tiger Shroff, which didn’t perform well with only Rs 13 Cr overall collection.
