Are SUVs dominating the market? A glance at the luxury market will tell you a different story. The mix of sedan and SUV body types is almost equal. In fact, a year where Mercedes-Benz emerged as the leading luxury brand yet again, the facelift E-Class has been the table topper with 2,839 units sold in the period.
The E-Class is closely followed by the BMW X1 with 2,241 units and the race for top 3 spots is swept by the 3 sedan from BMW with 1,938 units.
BMW X1 has been the leader of the SUV pack, however, Mercedes-Benz has taken up the next few places with GLC, GLA, GLE and GLS completing the top 5.
On the other hand, the sedan market has a greater variation in players. While E-Class and 3 Series sit atop, the leader board race to the final five is notched up Mercedes A-Class, Audi A4 and BMW 2 Series.
