One of the toughest exams to crack in India is the UPSC civil services examination. Every year thousands of young aspirants apply for this exam, having a dream to serve India selflessly. This exam tests the overall intellectual capability of a person and only a handful are able to clear it. The Civil Services aspirant strives a lot to reach the pinnacle to uphold the designation of an IAS officer. 

There are some legendary women IAS officers who have not only cracked the examination at a young age but also became an icon for the aspirants who are tirelessly studying to clear the exam. Here is a list of a few women IAS officers who are true pride of India. 

  1.  Smita Sabharwal

Smita Sabharwal is the most revered officer as she cracked the UPSC examination at the young age of 22. She is a graduate from St. Francis College for Women.  In UPSC CSE 2000 she got an all india rank 4. Her commendable performance got her immnecse praise and repect from Indians. Her maiden name was Smita Das. She got married to IAS officer Akun Sabharwal. Smita Sabharwal is popularily called “The People’s Officer”. 

  1. Swati Meena

Swati Meena was born and brought up in Rajasthan. She completed her studies in Ajmer. She is from the batch UPSC CSE 2000 and got AIR-260. Her father inspired her to become an IAS officer and his inspiration made Swati Meena put her whole devotion in clearing the exam. She became the first IAS officer who was the youngest in her batch. She made the bold and fearless decision to attack the Khanan mafia of Madhya Pradesh and made successful efforts to stop their illegal activities.

  1. Simi Kiran

Simi Kiran is from the city Balasore, situated in Odisha. She also cleared the exam at the age of 22. She cracked the UPSC CSE 2019, getting an AIR -31.  Simi Kiran gained popularity in the whole Balasore after clearing the exam and becoming the first youngest women officer of Odisha. Her schooling was done from DPS.  She is a graduate of India’s eminent institute, IIT Bombay.  She is the daughter of the officer of Bhilai Steel Plant of India. Her parents encouraged her immensely and their persistent motivation helped her clear the exam. 

  1.  Ananya Singh

She qualified for the exam in UPSC CSE 2019, that too at the young age of 22. She was a bright student in academics from her school days. She got 96% in the high school examination. From school to college she was a topper of her batch. Anaya Singh graduated from Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce, in the field of Economics. Her success story became an inspiration for many aspirants. 

  1. Tina Dabi

Tina Dabi needs no introduction as she is the most acknowledged and appreciated women IAS officer. She graduated at the age of 20 and rigourslouy worked hard to clear the IAS exam. Her study pattern and preparation guidelines are followed by many aspirants to achieve the desired goal of cracking this tough exam.  Her exceptional performance was worthy to be praised. She cleared UPSC CSE 2015 and got an All India Rank-1. Her sister, Riya Dabi got ranked 15 in the UPSC CSE 2020.
