Varanasi Floods: Heavy rainfall has affected many areas of Uttar Pradesh, including Varanasi. Here, continuous rainfall in the western region and hilly areas has increased Ganga water levels. The ghats of Varanasi are fully submerged. On Saturday evening, the Ganga river recorded a rise in water levels. The water level in the Ganga has risen from 68.34 to 69.14 meters.
The Ganga’s water level increased by 268 centimeters in the last 24 hours. This is the sixth time this year that the Ganga’s water level has grown. In such cases, the district government has maintained the flood posts and NDRF on alert. People are lined up on the streets for cremation because the cremation place at Harishchandra Ghat has been inundated.
