Usha Bala Chilukuri Vance is a former American lawyer born on 6 January 1986 in San Diego, California, to Telugu Indian immigrant parents. She is the wife of US VP JD Vance.

Her parent, originally from Andhra Pradesh, moved to the US in the 1980s. Accomplished individuals, Usha Vance’s mother is a molecular biologist, and her father is a mechanical engineer. Her family comes from Vadluru Village in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district.
Usha Vance has been a scholastic student and has achieved many milestones to prove her mettle during her educational years.
She obtained her Juris Doctor from Yale Law School, also where she met JD Vance for the first time. She is also a Gates Scholar from the Cambridge University where she received her MPhil in Modern History
Usha is an exemplary litigator with many laurels to her credit. She clerked for Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. of the U.S. Supreme Court and Judge Brett Kavanaugh, then of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
She has worked for sex years with law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson for its San Francisco and Washington, D.C. offices.
In 2024, she resigned to focus on her family. Vance often travelled with VP Vance for his vice-presidential campaign events.
