Vegetable Price Hike: After the rainy season, vegetable costs are rising again. Tomatoes, onions, and green vegetables are becoming increasingly expensive. The festive season is about to begin in the country, but the common man’s pocket has received a big shock from inflation.
Everything has become more expensive, including vegetables, lentils, and other basic items. Retail inflation soared in September to levels not seen in the previous ten years. Vegetable costs are sky-high; apples are now being sold in the market for Rs 50 to 80, while tomatoes are priced between Rs 80 and 120 per kilogram. Potatoes are sold for Rs 30-40 per kg, capsicum for Rs 160 per kg, and cauliflower for Rs 120.
