New Age Heroes Embracing Dark Roles

Massey has been exploring his dark side since Haseen Dilruba where love unleashes him to utmost madness and sacrifice. Recently, Raghav Juyal made headlines for his gripping performance as train dacoit in a gory duel with Lakshya Lalwani.

Bollywood has been witnessing the contemporary actors taking up complex and layered antagonist roles challenging their acting potential and “good boy” image. While Massey and Juyal have already forayed into the dark honing their caliber there are a few among the young lot of B-town who have the potential of completely nailing the brute villains.

Ishaan Khatter

Since then he has explored various kinds of heroes, and even made his Hollywood debut with Netflix’s ‘The Perfect Couple’. Delving into the grim and menacing side of the story, Ishaan can deliver a villain role impactfully with his rough looks and emotive eyes.

Vedang Raina

Fairly new to the industry, it might be a bargain of reputation and fame for Vedang to settle into a malicious role. Raina however has proved his potential in ‘The Archies’ and is ready to show what more he has with ‘Jigra’. Opting for a dark role may be a revolting challenge for him now, but he should take the risk after a few seasons.

Aditya Roy Kapoor

Aditya Roy Kapoor has embraced gray characters for ‘Malang’ and 'Gumraah' giving a glimpse into his capabilities of nailing an antagonist on screen. With a brooding charm and intense demeanor he would be a great fit for an combative action-thriller like ‘Kill’.
