Volkswagen Taigun vs Toyota Hyryder - Which SUV makes more sense?

The two SUVs Volkswagen Taigun and Toyota Hyryder are very prominent SUVs in the Indian market, Let’s take a look at their specifications and see which is better.

Volkswagen Taigun Specifications

VW offers the Taigun two turbocharged gasoline engines: a 1.5-liter engine and a 1-liter engine, both of which produce 115PS and 178Nm (150PS and 250Nm). The engines are paired to a six-speed manual transmission. The smaller engine in the automatic variants has a six-speed torque converter, while the larger engine has a seven-speed DCT. 

The Taigun's interior features a dual-tone configuration with a sharp-looking dash and plenty of silver trim, a 10-inch touchscreen entertainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and an eight-inch completely digital instrument cluster. This interior design is typical of VW. There is an electric sunroof, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and ventilated front seats.

Toyota Hyryder Specifications

This is the first Toyota vehicle in India to be equipped with a potent hybrid system. The more powerful hybrid version of the Hyryder is powered by a 1.5-liter TNGA Atkinson cycle engine that generates 92 horsepower and 122 pound-feet of torque. This engine is coupled with an electric motor. Its generates 79 PS of power and 141 Nm of torque. Together, the engine and electric motor provide 115 PS of power.

The Toyota Hyryder's claimed range while using only electricity is 25 kilometres. This engine is combined with a Toyota e-drive transmission. The Hyryder will also be able to use AWD with drive modes.
