Lieutenant General Asim Munir will be the new Army Chief of Pakistan. He has been the chief of ISI. Now he will replace General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Bajwa is retiring on 29 November. General Munir is the one who told former PM Imran Khan about the corruption around. Only after this he was removed from his post.

Aseem has been the ISI chief for 8 months in 2018-2019. Imran Khan made his close aide Faiz Hameed the ISI chief and transferred Munir as Gujranwala Corps Commander. Aseem was promoted to the rank of two-star general in 2018, but joined the post after two months. His four-year term as Lieutenant General will end on November 27.

According to the report of Economic Times, there will be no significant change in relations with India after Munir became Pakistan Army Chief, because Munir was involved in the Pulwama attack on February 14, 2019. Munir's impression was also seen in the way the attack took place. It was a planned attack, which could be executed only through planning and training.
