According to the World Health Organisation, Hypertension is a condition in which the blood vessels persistently raise pressure. This medical condition can increase the risk of heart, brain, kidney and other diseases. However this disease is preventable and controllable with proper care of Body and treatment.

Objective of World Hypertension Day

The main objective of observing World Hypertension Day is to connect and communicate with the public about the importance of controlling blood pressure and about hypertension and its complications. This day also helps to spread information, detection and treatment of the disease. 

What is Hypertension?

High blood pressure (hypertension) is a common condition in which the blood artery observes a  long-term force of the blood against its walls triggering severe health problems including heart disease and even haemorrhage. In simple words Hypertension is tension created in the arteries by increased blood flow making them prone to burst. 

Symptoms of Hypertension

High blood pressure or Hypertension usually has no symptoms but people suffering from it for a long time can suffer from health conditions, such as heart disease and stroke. Along with that people with high blood pressure can feel early morning headaches, nosebleeds, irregular heart rhythms, vision changes, and buzzing in the ears.

Treatment of Hypertension

While the proper treatment for hypertension requires medical assistance, one can control their BP with eating less salt, Low Sodium and a healthy diet. Meditation and regular exercise also helps control fat, obesity, keeps mind calm and controls the Blood Pressure. 

People should also restrict themselves from smoking and excess drinking and monitor their BP.
