YouTube, owned by Google, has announced the testing of a new lock screen feature aimed to avoid unintentional interruptions while watching videos. The functionality, which is presently under beta testing, allows users to disable touch input during video viewing. The Lock Screen function, according to YouTube's experiments website, aims to reduce unintentional taps that frequently halt, skip, or disrupt the video viewing experience. This upgrade will be available to both Android and iOS users. While this function is still in testing, Premium members will get early access to it until July 30.
This function, known as "Lock Screen," disables touch input, allowing users to watch films in full-screen mode without fear of accidentally pausing, skipping, or selecting suggested content. Those who have been authorized access to the test can activate the feature by hitting the gear icon in the top left corner of the screen. It is presently only available to certain Premium customers on Android and iOS devices.
Click on a YouTube video of your choosing. After the movie begins to play, change the screen orientation to landscape or full-screen mode. Tap the 'gear' icon in the top left corner of the UI. Choose 'Lock Screen' from the list of possibilities. By touching on the video and then the lock button, you may unlock the video controls option.
