13 Jun, 2022

The 2022 Baleno with advanced features is more advanced than the old model. The K12N petrol engine is used in this car, which is equipped with VVT and Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) technology. This is the second update of Baleno since its launch in 2015. The car has been one of the best selling products in the Nexa lineup. Let’s take a look at its specifications.

2022 Baleno Interior

In the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift, customers will get a new 9-inch SmartPlay Pro Plus infotainment system. It will get more features than the previous 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system. It will get a Heads Up Display or HUD. Maruti's new Baleno can be launched with the updated Hirtek platform.

It will get a new interior. It is believed that the company can improve its steel quality. Thick steel grade can be given in its outer panel and chassis. It will get connectivity of wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For safety, safety features like 6 airbags and ESP can be given in it.

2022 Baleno Exteriors

Though the overall silhouette and dimensions of the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno remain unchanged, it sports a new bumper along with a wider and slimmer grille. The grille gets chrome garnish that extends to the angular LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The shoulder line is revised and it does look more contemporary than before. The wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators and chrome door handles have been carried over from its predecessor along with the 16-inch alloy wheels.

2022 Baleno Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the new Baleno is powered by a sole 90hp, 113Nm, K12N DualJet petrol engine. This engine comes with variable valve timing and an integrated starter generator (ISG) that allows for auto engine stop/start to help save fuel. It, however, does not feature Maruti’s SHVS mild-hybrid system for additional torque boost and efficiency.

The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, but for the automatic gearbox, Maruti Suzuki has swapped the CVT from the outgoing model in favour of a 5-speed AMT. This is in the interest of cost saving and making the automatic variants more accessible to the buyers. The outgoing version of the Baleno was also offered with an 83hp, 1.2-litre K12M petrol engine, although this has been discontinued with this new model.

2022 Baleno Price

Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2022 Baleno in India with prices starting at ₹ 6.35 lakh for the base Sigma variant and going up to ₹ 9.49 lakh for the top-end Alpha automatic trim.
