Amid Adipurush controversy & backlash Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan returns to TV

Adipurush has been receiving a lot of flakes ever since its release. The film starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan has been heavily criticized not only for its bad VFX but also for its cringe dialogues and wrong portrayal of Hindu deities. As the box office collection plunges to a new bottom, a sudden announcement about the iconic Ramanand Sagara’s Ramayan has generated new excitement in the audience. There have been reports of 1980 Ramyana to be broadcasted again on the TV channels. The last time it happened was during the time of Covid-19, the show still held the power to lure millions of viewers.

When & where to watch Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan on TV

Starting on July 3rd, at 7:30 pm, the mythological program will premiere on the Shemaroo TV channel. The well-known series from the late 1980s, "Ramayana," directed by Ramanand Sagar, enjoyed significant popularity and still manages to garner top viewership rating everytime it is being broadcasted on TV channels. Arun Govil took on the role of Ram, Deepika Chikhalia portrayed Sita, and Sunil Lahri played Lakshman in the series. The character of Hanuman was portrayed by the late Dara Singh, while Arvind Trivedi played the role of Ravana.
