The first Apple Stores in India, Apple BKC and Apple Saket, were opened by Apple CEO Tim Cook. These two stores have reportedly recorded monthly sales of between Rs 44 and Rs 50 crores, according to the media. For its Delhi store, the company is currently paying a monthly rent of Rs 40 lakh and Rs 42 lakh.
Even though Apple Saket is only about 8,500 square feet in size, media reports claim that its revenue per square foot is substantially more than that of comparable stores in Mumbai that are 22,000 square feet. Although both Apple Stores are smaller, their monthly sales are quite similar. On the first day alone, more than 6,000 individuals had already visited these two establishments.
