Barbie review sparks debate between men & women perceiving the iconic doll; ‘Plastic fantastic’

Barbie review: What comes to one’s mind while thinking about ‘Barbie’. Probably a thin, tall, blonde hair, big blue eyes doll. There are so many stereotypes surrounding the Iconique Barbie doll. But, thankfully the ‘Lady Bird’ director Greta Gerwig understood the assignment well and so here is the modern day redemption of Barbie with that will kiss a goodbye to the traditional depiction Barbie from the 1950s, Instead, a wide variety of Barbie dolls representing many racial groups, social classes, and occupations will be featured in the film.

Barbie Review

Barbie movie take  clever and interesting approache while breaking the stigma around the Barbieworld. The Movie highlights the clash between Margot Robbie's Barbie and Ryan Gosling's Ken. Barbieworld is a place where women are in charge and men are not as important. This is shown in contrast to the real world where there is a struggle between feminism (equality for women) and patriarchy (where men are dominant). One day, the typical Barbie gets transported to the human world through a mysterious portal, along with Ken. They start a journey of self-discovery and learn that things are very different in the human world compared to Barbieworld. In the human world, men have more power, and patriarchy is strong. What happens next is something you will find out after watching the movie.

What’s good in Barbie: Greta's brilliance shines through as she cleverly dismantles every unconventional stereotype that Barbie has come to represent over the years and the same that was fed in every kid's mind. However, what actually worked was her goal is not to mock men in the process. Greta carefully crafted a cinematic experience where Barbie's original purpose was never about conforming to those unrealistic standards in the first place.

What’s not good about Barbie: Sometimes when you over explain the agenda of the project, without people letting it understand and contemplate on their own, then that’s a problem. ‘Barbie’ movie was a great approach but lacks appeasing the divided sections of the society.

Barbie Gender debate

Currently the only thing we can see on Rotten tomatoes and IMDB is the star-war.Some men perceive Greta's movie as solely focused on feminism, empowerment, and equality, but women see deeper layers to it. For many  Barbie held a significant place as a cherished doll during their childhood and how growing up, the extreme portrayal of the iconic doll shaped their life. This profound connection may be something that some men might not fully grasp. Despite the ongoing gender conflict in opinions, the movie has been released worldwide in theaters on July 21st.
