International Film Festival: Cannes De Festival has evolved as one of the grandest and most revered film festivals across the globe. A major tourist attraction, and a great event for cinephiles and artists worldwide. Film festivals today have become a popular phenomena, and a bookmarked occasion on many bucket lists. History of film festivals

Venice film festival is known as one of the oldest running film festivals in the world. The film festival was founded by Giuseppe Volpi, member of the National Fascist Party and grandfather of famous producer Marina Cicogna in August 1932, as a part of of the ‘Venice Biennale’, one of the world's oldest exhibitions of art, created by the Venice City Council on 19 April 1893. At the time, the awards were plagued by the pressures from Hitler and Mussolini, hence with the idea of a free artistic expression and recognition, the Cannes came into being with Jean Zay of French Ministry of Education at the time. 

From then, enlisted below have emerged as the biggest film festivals all around the world.

Festival De Cannes 

Deemed as one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, Cannes De Festival is set on the French Riviera annually welcoming the veteran and emerging cinema artist on the glamorous red carpet. Venice Film Festival 

Renowned as the oldest running film festival, Venice film festival takes place on the Lido di Venezia. The event is famous for its hand picked avant-garde selections for the highest honor, ‘The Golden Lion’ for the best film screened at the event.

Berlin International Film Festival 

Held in Germany, famed as Berlinale, is one of the largest public film festivals. The festival is significant for its celebratory honor towards the diversity of the cinema and providing a voice to indie and experimental productions as well.

Toronto International Film Festival

Widely called as the TIFF, it is one of the most electric film festivals hosting the apt atmosphere for its audience. It is also the largest publicly attended film festivals in the world posing as the critical launchpad for Oscar contenders.
