CID Aired for 20 years
Created by B.P. Singh, CID first aired on Sony Television on 21 January 1998. The show picked up recognition from the start and continued to hold the interest of the audience for two decades. The show ran on TV for a successful 20 years with around 1,547 episodes airing on screen. With its milestone of the 1000th episode on 13 September 2013, CID became one of the longest-running TV shows in the history of Indian television. In October 2018, the show had the last leg of its episodes on screen before finally going off on 27 October.
The show had a cast ensemble but three major characters stayed with the audience the most including ACP Pradyuman spearheaded by Shivaji Satam, Senior Inspector Daya by Dayanand Satam, and Adutya Srivastava as Inspector Abhijeet and Dr. Salukhe by Narendra Gupta.
Guinness World Record For Longest Single-Shot Episode of a TV Show
The Sony TV show holds the record for the longest single-shot episode of any TV show in India or abroad. In one of the episodes titled ‘The Inheritance’ that aired in October 2004, the show etched its name in the Guinness Book of World Records for shooting a single shot of 111 minutes in Lonavla with no cuts making it the longest single-shot episode of TV show. The feat of the crime investigative thriller the show won a place in the Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records.
