West Bengal Student Credit Card:

The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee has recently launched the Student Credit Card Scheme for the students. The scheme focuses on providing the students with a credit card facility through which they will be able to take a loan of up to Rs 10 lakh at a simple interest rate through a credit card for their studies. 

The Student Credit Card Scheme aims to make students self-reliant (Atmanirbhar), and that they shall never compromise on their studies considering the financial issues. 

While Students preparing for higher education and competitive examinations will also get direct benefits under this scheme. 

At the same time, students will be provided a time limit of 15 years to repay the loan payments, and they will be able to take advantage of this scheme for 40 years. The scheme also focuses on providing benefits to students enrolled in Secondary Education, Professional Courses, Doctorate, and Post-doctorate courses.

While after approval from the cabinet, the scheme was implemented in West Bengal yesterday.
