Commonwealth Games: India got another Gold in Table Tennis, Women Cricket Team won Silver

The 10th day of the Commonwealth Games was good for India. Indian women's cricket won a silver medal in cricket. Nikhat Zareen won a gold medal in a boxing match. With this, 18 gold medals have come in India's bag. Sharath Kamal/G Sathiyan won silver medal in Table Tennis. Kidambi Srikanth won the bronze medal in badminton.

India’s achievement in boxing

India won three gold medals in boxing. Nikhat Zareen won the gold medal by defeating Carly McNall of Northern Island 5-0 in the 50 kg weight category. India's star boxer and current world champion Nikhat defeated England's boxer Savanna Alfia 5-0 in the semi-final match played on Saturday. This was Nikhat's first gold medal in the Commonwealth.

Neetu Ghanghas (48 KG) and Amit Panghal (51 KG) won gold in their respective weight categories. Late night Sagar Ahlawat lost his final match and had to be content with silver. They were defeated 5-0 by Delicious Ory of England in the final.

Total medals won

India won a total of 15 medals on the 10th day, yet India is still at fifth place in the medal tally. India has 18 gold, 15 silver and 22 bronze medals. Australia topped the medal tally with 66 gold, 55 silver and 53 bronze medals. On the other hand, hosts England is second with 55 gold medals and Canada is third with 22 gold medals. Whereas with 19 gold medals, New Zealand is at number four, one place above India.
