Controversial Comedians: Samay Raina to Tanmay Bhat, Stand-Up Comics Who Landed In Legal Troubles

Controversial Comedians:  The latest controversy of Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia was a repetition of history where comedians found themselves in legal trouble due to their “crude” jokes or satire. 

Before Samay Raina, the likes of Vir Das, Tanmay Bhat, Kiku Sharda, and more have been knocked into police custody and FIRs as their art did not sit well with some sections of the society. 

Tanmay Bhat was booked for parodying legendary Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar on their now-banned show AIB. Kiku Sharda’s portrayal of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on his TV comedy show led to followers of Singh suing him into imprisonment.
