Dhanteras 2024: The thirteenth day of the lunar day of Krishna Paksha in the Kartika month is celebrated as the day devoted to the god Dhanvantri called Dhanteras literally meaning the thirteenth day of wealth. On this day, Dhanvantri, the god of medicine and health emerged from the ‘Samudra Manthan’ with a pot of ‘Amrit’ in hand.
