Dunki Advance Booking Collection: Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Dunki’ is all set to take over the theatres on 21st December, and the enthusiasm among fans is clearly visible by the number of tickets sold prior to its release. The advance booking of Dunki began on 16th December and within four days, the movie already earned a collection worth more than Rs 10 Cr. Additionally, the movie will clash with Prabhas starrer ‘Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire’, which will be releasing on 22nd December. ‘Dunki’ is a story of a group of friends who want to move to London but the circumstances force them to take the illegal route abroad. The movie is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and casts SRK, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Grover, Boman Irani, and others.
Dunki's advance booking sales have been strong across the country, with a gross collection of approximately Rs 10.39 crore. For the first day, a total of 3,64,487 tickets were sold across 12,720 shows across the country. Looking at state-by-state booking, Delhi stands out with Rs 1.57 crore, indicating the strong chance of housefull on the day of its release. Tamil Nadu and Telangana have impressive occupancy rates of 21% and 22%, respectively, with bookings of Rs 30.18 lakh and Rs 1.16 crore. With 39 shows and 12% occupancy, Andhra Pradesh has a gross booking of Rs 16.97 lakh. Despite having lower occupancy rates of 4%, Gujarat and Maharashtra managed to generate significant gross bookings, Rs 40.5 lakh and Rs 4.85 crore, respectively.
Over 100,000 fans gathered to see King Khan at a promotional event for the film held at Dubai's The Vox Cinema and Global Village. The craze for Dunki was also seen at the ticket counters, where prices for the film soared to as much as Rs 2800 in several locations. Talking about the capital, the cost of a ticket in the Delhi NCR has risen dramatically to Rs 2400 at Ambience Mall in Gurugram and PVR Director's Cut. There are other locations where tickets are priced between Rs 1600 and Rs 2200. The cinema tickets in Mumbai are being sold for an astounding Rs 2800 at Maison PVR and BKC. Prices for PVR Luxe, Phoenix Palladium, and Lower Parel can reach up to Rs 1850.
The year 2023 will be ending with an explosive clash at the box office featuring SRK’s ‘Dunki’ and Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’, and both are currently competing for head-to-head in the race of advance booking collections. According to Sacnilk.com, Dunki's advance booking (gross) is almost Rs 12 crore, while Salaar's has already surpassed Rs 18 crore. Prashanth Neel’s film Salaar stars Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan in key roles, with Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, and others supporting cast.
