Eid Ul-Fitr:  Eid-Ul-Fitr is one of the biggest festivals of India and a prominent festival celebrated by the Islamic community in the country and around the world. The date and timing of Eid however is dependent on the sighting of the moon in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, there is always a lot of confusion surrounding the correct date of the festival. 

Eid is celebrated in the tenth month of the Islamic calendar. Shawwal is the month that comes right after Ramzan and Eid-Ul-Fitr marks the start of this holy month. This year Eid is predicted to fall on either 31 March or 1 April. It will be celebrated on the sight of the new moon.
