FIFA World cup 2022: Brazil gets a shock, Neymar and Danilo out of group stage matches

Brazil, the five-time champion in the FIFA World Cup, has suffered two major setbacks in the Qatar World Cup. In fact, the team's star players Neymar Jr and Danilo have been ruled out of the group stage matches due to injury. Neymar suffered an injury to his right ankle in the last moments of the match against Serbia on Thursday, 24 November. Due to this, he had to leave the ground even before the end of the match. 

Brazil football team doctor gives update

Brazilian football players Neymar and Danilo have suffered ankle injuries and will not be able to play in the next match against Switzerland in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022. Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lassmar has given an update on the condition of right-back Danilo and striker Neymar, a day after beating Serbia 2-0. 

Doctor Rodrigo Lassmar said in a CBF statement, 'Neymar and Danilo started treatment immediately after the game. His MRI and other tests were done again on Friday so that we can know more details about the injury of the players. Scans showed Neymar had a bruised right ankle as well as bone swelling, while Danilo had a medial ligament injury in his left ankle. The players are being treated.

Neymar gives statement

Neymar later wrote on social media, "Tough match but the win was important. Congratulations to the team. The first step has been taken. 6 more left." He wrote on Instagram after the match, "Have faith. It is important to have faith that everything will be fine. The best performance is yet to come.
