G20 Summit 2023: Sitting Idle between 8-10 September? Worry Not, Plan these Ideas for a Weekend Getaway

Weekend Vacation Ideas:  As India is about to host the 18th G20 Summit in New Delhi, the government has declared a shutdown in New Delhi from 8th September to 10th September 2023. The summit will be held on September 9 and 10 at the newly constructed Bharat Mandapam Convention Center at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. There have been many restrictions and traffic alterations being done from the security perspective, and schools and colleges along with offices and private offices will remain closed from 8 to 10 September.

As the G20 Summit has taken place at the time of weekends, many people who were planning to go on a mini vacation or a day out in the capital, have to postpone their plans. Apart from this, as Shah Rukh Khan’s most anticipated movie ‘Jawan’ is all set to release, movie enthusiasts and fans who were waiting for the weekend to watch the movie in theatres will also have to wait till Monday.

So, what to do from 8th to 10th September? No one can waste this opportunity by just sitting idle on Friday Night. Check out some exciting at-home plans with your friends or family to make the weekend worthy.

Weekend Plans for 8-10 September

In the midst of all the rescheduling and disappointment, we have curated a list of activities for you to enjoy the coming lockdown weekend without any regrets. From movies to watch to mini trips out of Delhi, check out some interesting weekend plans to spend time with yourself or your loved ones.

Plan Mini Vacations

Although many people have already made plans for Friday night to go on a mini-trip in the outskirts of Delhi or any other place, you can still go out but instead of Friday, depart for your destination on Thursday night as many private and government offices are providing work from home on 8th September. What if you had already booked hotels for only 1-2 days? Worry not, you can plan a roundabout trip when you arrive at your destination (many tend to go to Rishikesh, Jaipur, and Agra). Do a quick research on the sight-seeing places where you can easily go, without any hassle.

Watch Movies

Many of you have planned to watch ‘Jawan’ in theatres, but the weekend lockdown has put a halt on your plans. While waiting for the movie, you can also watch many upcoming OTT releases, ranging from mystery thrillers to comedy romances. From Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s first time on-screen role as a transgender in ‘Haddi’, to the gut-wrenching horror movie ‘Insidious 3’, check out the list of movies and web shows that you can watch this weekend.

Plan a Movie Night at Home

Planned to go to a club with a sleepover at a friend’s home, but the weekend lockdown ruined it. Instead, you can have a night stay without going out by planning a movie night at your home, followed by a game session. Make an outside-like environment by DIY movie night plans at home, and enjoy with your friends

Home Spa for Relaxation

We have been following a hectic schedule by working day and night and sometimes it gets difficult to take time for ourselves, even on weekends. So this is the perfect chance to pamper yourself this weekend. Arrange a home spa for yourself with all the basic ingredients required, you can use DIY Face Packs and home remedies to get that much-needed relaxation from all the tiredness and fatigue that has been building up for quite a time.

Mini Family Get-Together

Many of us have planned a day out or a dinner with our family. Well, you can have a family dinner party at home as well. Bring all the ingredients to your home and prepare delicacies and snacks with your family. Make it a mini get-together by enjoying the meals and sharing some family moments with each other.
