Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: The revered and vibrant idol of the Indian gods and goddesses are a must during festivals. While the beauty of the idols is admired openly, a little is known about the lives of the creator of the idols, who migrate from other parts of India to make a living in the festival season.
Skilled in their traditional, and generational art of idol makers, these artisans flock from Kolkata to Delhi for a temporary shelter in order to make maximum profit in the festive season. Living under meager conditions, they devote themselves to make each idol statue unique. Keeping the spirit of the festivals alive, idols made by them are surely appreciated, however their life of misery and challenges is often kept hidden from the world. Ironically the idols are revered with riches, the creator still struggles to make ends meet.
