With a sister named Rohini, the Rane’s make a nuclear family. Born in Andhra Pradesh on 16 December 1983, he was brought up in Gwalior and moved to Delhi to pursue higher education. He is an alumna of Bhagat Singh College, University of Delhi.
Making his bollywood debut, Rane starred opposite Pakistani actress Mawara Hocane, in Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru’s ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’. The movie had a lukewarm start in theaters, but years later fans admired Rane as Inder catapulting his fame.

With ‘Taish’ he made his OTT debut alongside Jim Sarab, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbandha, and Sanjeeda Sheikh in 2020. He was then seen as an adventure lover, opposite Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey in Netflix’s Haseen Dilruba in 2021. He was a part of ‘Tara vs Bilal’ and ‘Kun Faya Kun’ which were a commercial flop.
Rane started as a TV actor with SAB TV. His film debut was marked with a Telugu movie ‘Thakita Thakita’, He then acted in Avunu (2012), Maaya (2014), Brother of Bommali (2014), Kavacham (2018), and others.
Rane has been dating actress Kim Sharma since 2018. The couple parted ways in 2020 as revealed by an instagram post by him.
He is a photographer, nature lover, carpenter, and fitness enthusiast. He is also the first Indian actor to own a Campervan.
