Tips to remove Holi color from Face & Skin

Removing the colors from skin and hair the right way will ensure that your skin does not suffer from the aftermath of chemicals used in the Holi colors acting up on your skin. Using natural and effective ways of color removal will ensure you do not irritate your skin in the future as well.

Brush away dry colors: To begin removing the colors first off, you should gently brush away all the dry color from your face and hair with the use of a soft brush or gentle cloth.

Wash: Use lukewarm water to start washing away the color from your skin and hair in small circular motions with your fingertips.

Use mild cleansers: Holi colors may act up on your skin, disrupting its natural oil levels and pH, so using the right kind of cleanser will ensure you do not further irritate your skin. So, go for a gentle and mild cleanser with no soap and parabens to wash away the tough layer of color.

Double cleanse: If cleansing once does not help much, you should double cleanse the colored area thoroughly.

Use oil: Use any non-comodegenic and cold-pressed oils to rub on the skin where color is still left, and gently rub it to break down the stubborn color components from your skin to remove them. You can double cleanse after this step.

Natural remedies: You can take the help of natural remedies like yogurt and milk to remove the stubborn holi colors from your face. Make a paste of besan and yogurt, and rub it gently over the face to exfoliate the color from the skin. Similarly, the lactic acid present in the milk can help scrub away the color without being harsh on the skin.

Moisturise: Ensure you moisturise your skin well after the removal process to restore the natural oils of the skin.

Tips to remove Holi color from hair

Hair is a delicate part of your body that requires extra care and attention. To remove colors, start off by dry brushing your hair and getting rid of all the powder color. Follow it by simply running lukewarm water through your hair to let the color flow out. Then, use a mild shampoo to wash away the color thoroughly. You can also use a hydrating hair mask to restore its moisture.
