Independence Day 2023: PM Modi urges citizens to change DP to Tricolour under “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign

Independence Day 2023: Ahead of the 77th Indian Independence Day celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated the “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign in order to commemorate 15th August. Under this, the PM has urged each citizen to change their social media displays to tricolour (tiranga), starting from himself only. PM Modi has changed his social media profile pictures to India’s National Flag. The Prime Minister has also asked people to participate in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign between 13th to 15th August.

PM Modi Changes His Social Media DP

Prime Minister Modi has changed the display picture on his official X (previously Twitter) account and other social media profiles to the national flag, to “deepen the bond between us”. He tweeted “In the spirit of the #HarGharTiranga movement, let us change the DP of our social media accounts and extend support to this unique effort which will deepen the bond between our beloved country and us.” He has also asked people to upload their selfies and photos with the national flag on the website of www.harghartiranga.com

Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

The “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign is a part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative, which encourages all Indians to hoist the tricolour in their homes. On July 22 of last year, PM Modi introduced the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, a day he deemed as “historically significant” since it falls on the same day the national flag was adopted. The PM also tweeted at the beginning of the campaign that it will “deepen our connect with the national flag.”
