International Yoga Day 2023: International Yoga Day is celebrated throughout the world on 21 June. The entire globe gears up to commemorate the day and practice yoga in solidarity. From meditative to health benefits, Yoga is an extremely important practice that should be inculcated in our lifestyles to stay both mentally and physically fit.
But if you are someone who not only loves to perform Yoga but wants to teach the art to others also then we have got you covered. Pursuing a career in this field can be quite beneficial. Check out below to see how to become a yoga instructor in India.
You may need to have a solid grasp of the yoga practise on a personal level before you can start teaching others this age-old technique. You should think about enrolling in a school recognised by the Yoga Certification Board (YCB) if you wish to become a professional yoga instructor. This is the organisation that the government uses to certify yoga instructors. YCB-recognized "leading yoga institution," "yoga institution," or "yoga training centre" centres are the ones you should seek out.
You have two options when you join a YCB-recognized centre. The first choice is to receive yoga instruction and training, which is especially important if you wish to work as a yoga instructor. Getting certified as a yoga therapist is the alternative solution. You can join in several yoga instructor training courses under the area of yoga education.
Five different levels of certification
–Yoga Volunteer
–Yoga Protocol Instructor
–Yoga Wellness Instructor
–Yoga Teacher And Evaluator
–Yoga Master
Candidates must take a different exam for each of the YCB certifications indicated above. On the basis of a suitable syllabus established by the YCB, you can study for a test. While the tests for the other four certificates include both practical and academic components, the yoga volunteer exam is entirely theoretical. Multiple-choice (MCQ) questions of an objective kind are frequently found in theory exams.
The YCB issues your certificate and identity card after you pass your exam. When you have those, you are qualified to teach yoga at the level indicated by your certification. If you have the necessary credentials, you can apply to work as a teacher at a YCB-recognized centre. Alternatively, you can enrol at any institution that allows yoga instructors to take classes, including hospitals, fitness facilities, and colleges.
All YCB yoga trainer certifications, from yoga volunteer to yoga master, are valid for five years from the date the YCB announces its results. You can renew your certificate by using the board's Continuing Yoga Education (CYE) programme service.
