Jet Airways Case News: Founder Naresh Goyal Begs Court to “Let Me Die in Jail,” Here’s What Happened

Naresh Goyal Jet Airways: Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal got emotional in front of the court and tearfully stated that he has lost all hope, and just wants to die peacefully in jail. Sharing his grieve situation, Goyal said that his wife is in the advanced stage of cancer, his daughter is also unwell, and he himself is not able to stand due to swollen and painful knees. Begging in front of the whole court, Naresh Goyal requested the judge to let him die in the jail instead of sneding him to JJ Hospital, where he was frequently having medical check-ups. 

Jet Airways Shut Down

Naresh Goyal founded Jet Airways in 1974, providing sales and marketing services to international clients. Soon after the country’s economy continued to become stable, Jet Airways began its commercial operations in 1993, competing with already established companies like Damania Airways, Sahara India, East-West Airlines, Indian Airlines and Air India. After dominating the aviation industry for almost two decades, the downfall of Jet Airways started in 2019 after it was unable to repay loans. At the time, the company owed Indian banks over Rs 8,500 crore, and its total debt to stakeholders and employees was an astounding Rs 25,000 crore. Additionally, it owed another Rs 3,500 crore to passengers who bought advance tickets.
