KBC 16: The anticipation with every question taking the person on the hot seat closer to the crore mark question is felt equally by the ones watching it through screens. So when one does bag an amount as huge as a crore, the unexpected frenzy takes all for a ride. Something similar happened in the latest episode of Amitabh Bachchan’s hosted quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 16’ when Chander Prakash won Rs. 1 Crore with his intelligence and steadfastness. The winning moment was historic for the season, but the winner was a rarity who answered all 16 questions of the show correctly.

Chander Prakash traversed the uphill till the 15 question for one crore where he was asked “The largest city in which country is not its capital but a port with an Arabic name that means 'abode of peace'?” He has the correct answer out of the four options i.e. Tanzania with the help of his "Double Dip" lifeline.
To his relief, this was the moment when Bachchan threw his hands in the air to announce that he had won the prize money of Rs. 1 crore with his answer. He then moved from his chair to hug Chander as he became the first person of this season to do so. The winning moment was shared by Sony TV on Instagram with a caption saying, “Iss season ke pehle Crorepati, Chander Parkash ko hum sab ki ore se hardik shubhkaamnaye!”
All this must have left you wondering who this young man is, taking a cheque for a significant amount, and what he will do with it.
Chander Prakash is a 22-year-old UPSC aspirant hailing from Jammu and Kashmir. A man of perseverance and knowledge, Prakash’s life has not been easy. He had to face several health complications since his birth. A severely blocked intestine took him to the hospital bed for seven surgeries with the doctors asking him to undergo an eighth one.
With his medical difficulties, one would wonder how he is holding up. Well, Chander is a man of steel will, and ambition. He wants to serve the nation as a civil servant as evident from his aspirations at UPSC, regarded as the toughest exam in the world.
KBC has been an attempt for him to brush up on his learnings and win a considerable amount to undergo his medical surgery for the eighth time.
Notably, Prakash also guessed the answer to the 7-crore question correctly even though he chose to quit right after winning a crore.
